My first priority this week was finishing up the three blocked in assets I had to refine. Even though the large furniture assets are closer to completion I still have lots of details to add and changes to make.
I was happy enough with the block out to start thinking about and working on my materials. I used one of the unreal base wall textures to put a white plain texture on everything in my environment. I did this to get a clearer view of lighting and a better idea of how everything would look.

Next I decided to start work on one of the main textures, important to the iconic look of the apartment, the purple painted walls. I created a quick plain purple tillable texture in substance designer to put on the walls that required it. Putting the coloured texture on the walls showed me some places where the model will need to adjusted to fit the changes in wall paint/pattern.

After putting on the purple paint texture I realised for the other two paint textures, the green and the cream paint, that since they are split horizontally on the walls I would need to split the model or the Uv to split the wall texture. Along with this I decided to prioritise the wall detailing, like the skirtings and trims for the sectioning of the colours.
I have been consistently updating my Trello board to fit my priorities and my goals for the week.

My plan for reading week is to finish the walls, including textures, model detailing (trims and skirtings) and as a stretch goal to model the wall lights I need and details like the picture/poster frames.
